Langtang trek follows a route through the Langtang National Park in Nepal. The park spreads in about 420 sq. Km. Area and has many valleys and peaks. However, the valleys are not that steep, and they provide the best route to trek under the shed of trees. The trek comprises of the road through the jungle, and the trekker could view such a tremendous amount of vegetation. On top of that, the Langtang trek has gained popularity because even though it is on the mountain, it has more extensive walking paths. Thus, these more full paths ensure more safety.

Preparations For Langtang Trek

The responsibility of the trek falls under the Nepal government, and so, their rules should be followed by the trekker. Firstly, there would be no requirement of the guide, as the route is well developed with proper boards and teahouses to stay. However, registration for the trek would include permission and national park entry fees. The starting point of the trek is Syabru Besi which is about 120 km north from Kathmandu, but the condition of the road is horrible. The Langtang Trek is in the national park, so the staying facilities are comfortable compared to other treks. However, camping is allowed in the park so that a trekker can enjoy the trekking perks also. Some many hotels and teahouses provide housing along with regular facilities like food and communication. Moreover, the trek passes through a lake, which raises the trek excitement by one notch. The best season to visit the trek is from October to December when there is low rainfall which beautifies the view. On the contrary, the other best time would be the summer and springtime between April to June. Not only does this period give you dry land, but also it provides you with a unique view of the spring flowers.

Precautions On The Trek

Langtang trek is not very dangerous, but it requires that the trekker is well prepared for it. Therefore, the following points should be highlighted to each and every trekker.

  • First and the foremost point would be to take a medical clearance from your doctor to make sure that you are medically fit.
  • You should carry enough clothes to protect you from the sun, cold or rain, whichever season you are visiting.
  • The earthquakes in 2015 destroyed the Langtang village, and so the earthquakes may continue in the area of your trek. Thus, special attention should be given to any instructions that are received from the locals.

Thus, the Langtang trek could be fun and dangerous at the same time, but still, safety has to be taken care of first. The earthquakes have shattered the lands and hearts of Nepalis, which would mean that they would be extra careful with tourists. Thus, trekking could be made more fun, and it would depend highly on the group that would follow. Therefore, Langtang trek with anybody a group or family could be preferred.
